About This Website

This website has a dual function. Initially it was used to bring people together in the wake of the terrible catastrophe that was Hurricane Katrina that devastated homes and business and lives in New Orleans and the surrounding area in 2005. It now stands as a monument to the efforts of ordinary people who helped each other by opening their homes that had not been damaged to those folks who had been made homeless.

Time has moved on and the city and satellite towns have rebuilt destroyed buildings and the people have gotten on with their lives. This website has moved its focus from its original intent to that of continuing the process of rebuilding and repairing by adding professionally researched and written articles on many aspects of home improvement, home repair, home security and many other subjects pertaining to the home. The idea is to help those folks who have some home repair and DIY skills to make those repairs and obtain the right tools they will need to do the job.

To help keep the website running and to cover its costs, we have included some advertising on some of the articles that we hope will help to keep this site up and running and building into a useful and sought after resource for all things that can crop up with the home, inside and out.
